Please make sure your system Locale used UTF-8 or UTF-16 only. I can't
reproduce this here with Kubuntu 10.10 and KDE 4.5.4 nor KDE 4-6 beta 2,
all my LOCALE use UTF-8, no special character problems in either German,
French, Italian or English.
