[Bug 605580] [NEW] wireless is disabled

Public bug reported:

Wireless enabled automatically with Ubuntu 9.10 but not enabled in
Lucid. There are no wieless networks detected. Works OK with Microsoft
so wireless is operative. Laptop is Medion MD 96290. Clean install of
Lucid did not help after following advice given in question 115041.
