[Bug 588090] [NEW] kdm user does not own /var/lib/kdm

Using Kubuntu 10.10 (Maverick), on upgrade to kdm version
4:4.4.80-0ubuntu2 the package manager warned about the fact that the
user kdm does not own its own home account (/var/lib/kdm). On reboot
this caused error messages to be written to the log (and a drop in
functionality because KDM is no longer able to recall the last login
name). For instance:

2010-06-01 02:47:18     akron   kdm_greet[1334] Data directory
"/var/lib/kdm" not accessible: Permission denied
