I confirm this bug. it's really not even "just for fun". 
For example, this string https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/kpackagekit/+pots/kpackagekit/uk/5/+translate
As you can see "Vyhledání poskytovaných selhalo" is not even a Cyrillic string. 

Please stop this.
