Xubuntu 8.10 will reach EOL in April 2010 with the release of 10.04.
Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Please either a) upgrade and test or test using the Lucid Lynx Live
environment from the desktop cd. If you can test it, and it is still an
issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running
apport-collect 317122.

Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
