* I'm guessing the version of Kubuntu was 9.04 back in November.

* Sorry I can't remember what version of the kernel or of the X-Server
was - but it was whatever was shipping in the Backports PPA at that
time.

* In case it helps, the uname string from my main workstation is
currently Linux 2.6.31-20-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux.

* The system has an old ATI graphics card in it (the system reports
RV505 but I'm not sure if that's right.) The X system is using the
Radeon X1550 drivers.
