I'm glad to see that the plasma developers fixed this glitch with the
current release that is in Maverick.

Jonathan Thomas: i still disagree with your assumption that 'You're
agreeing to have a not-so-visually-clean look by disabling the splash.'

the 'none' option has never caused a 'unclean' look in the past either
with KDE, im glad it remains that way with newer Kubuntu releases,

but i still prefer to see a backport for Lucid Lynx, sinds its LTS for a
comming while ; )
