I havent seen a fix but... I also can fix the issue to "some" degree.

For the person with the distorted view, changing to zlib (+xor) solves that interlaced look
also, i too can effect the desktop now by disabling the xwin desktop effects entirely

however i now get terrible color artifacting from any moving graphics
like the cursor or the system load monitor for instance. I am using
nvidia on both
