I had the same issue after installing amarok14, then moved back to amarok (2.x) on Ubuntu 11.04.
I first tried sudo chown -R <myusername> $HOME/.kde
that did not work
Then I tried both "sudo kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental", then sudo chown -R <myusername> $HOME/.kde
Then problem disappeared.
