What graphics driver are you using?

Also, assuming you can reproduce the issue, it would be good if you
could install xrestop, reproduce the issue and then run the following in
a terminal

xrestop -b -m 1 &> log

That will create a log file with all current windows and various
attributes of those (e.g. memory consumption), this might help with
debugging. Though I fear it is a simple driver bug really.
