Public bug reported:
When installing packages in Muon dependent packages are not marked as
automatically installed. Which causes unused packages to float around
when the original package is removed.
Example: smplayer is dependent on mplayer. Installing and removing
smplayer in Muon will leave mplayer on the system even if it will never
be used.
$ aptitude show mplayer
Package: mplayer
New: yes
State: installed
Automatically installed: no
If the installed dependencies were marked automatically installed,
selecting "Remove Unnecessary Packages" in the menu will remove the
unused packages. I would also be great if "Remove Unnecessary Packages"
would be run every time a package is removed to ensure a clean system.
** Affects: muon (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
