[Bug 920676] [NEW] Logout in Kubuntu ends with black screen

Public bug reported:

With a fresh install of Kubuntu 11.10 and all packages up to date, after
you logout, you get a black screen.  You can mouse over the username and
password fields and enter your password again and login, but the screen
remains black.  From there the only choice is to reboot.

The only workaround is to set the variable Terminate-server = true in
kdmrc.

Here's my video card info from lspci:
06:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Turks XT [AMD Radeon HD 6600 Series]

Specifically, it is a Radeon HD 6670 by XFX.
