[Bug 1024951] [NEW] New Activity widget misplaced

Public bug reported:

Sometimes (about 1 time in 30) when I log into KDE, the New Activity
widget is misplaced. It appears roughly 100 pixels  diagonally from the
top right of the screen. The desktop also has scrollbars and the desktop
icons are missing. Logging off and in again generally fixes this
problem.
