Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) LTS 32-bit 
Kernel Linux 3.2.0-25-generic-pae
GNOME 3.4.1
Package Version: rekonq 0.9.61+git2012052922-1~precise~ppa1

Downloaded rekonq via apt-get. No errors reported during install
process.

Upon installing Rekonq, I open the application and type
http://google.co.nz into the address bad and press enter.

Expected result: the browser to open the webpage at google.

Actual result: error message: 'rekonq does not know how to handle this
protocol: http'

Nothing follows this error message.

Try other websites but get the same message.
