The workaround with a renamed binary is already in raring-proposed:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/skype/4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.13.04.1

Have you verified that there would be a problem with sni-qt? Please note
that the workaround includes an executable in PATH named skype.
