I see the same thing:

$ qtdemo
The program 'qtdemo' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install qt4-demos
$ sudo apt-get install qt4-demos
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree       
Reading state information... Done
qt4-demos is already the newest version.
