FYI:  ksnapshot 4.10.3-1.30.1 will not capture a screen view if there is a menu pulled down in the Thunderbird 17.0.6 configuration page (specifically, the list of authentication methods).
KDE  4.10    openSuse 12.3    libqt 4.2.4
