The valgrind forensics have already been done, according to a thread I
found on the KDE forums:

There's a valgrind trace posted there and I'm quite sure I'm dealing
with the exact same issue.

KDE bug:

 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314919

implies that a fix has been checked into their source control system for
KDE 4.10.5.  I think this fix needs to be backported to 12.04 LTS.
