[Bug 1242805] [NEW] [KUBUNTU] Network manager plasma widget connects but shows "disconnected" icon when VPN is connected

Public bug reported:

Kubuntu Saucy, using the new plasma-nm widget.

Connecting to a lan or wifi, the try icon shows the correct icon as
expected. However, connecting to a VPN the tray icon shows as
"disconnected", though both the wifi/lan and VPN are connected and
working properly.
