[Bug 1245418] [NEW] Muon updater does not show updates

Public bug reported:

When the system tray shows that there are updated available (with the 'gear icon'), the Muon updater (that is opened when clicked on the gear icon) does not show the available updates.
Instead it tells when the last check of updates occurred.

When opening Muon itself and select the 'Upgradeable status filter' it
does show the actual updates that were found.

After clicking 'Check for Updates' in Muon, the 'gear icon' shows again
in the system tray. But clicking it still opens muon updater without
showing the updates that are available.

This (mis)behavior started after (cleanly) installing Kubuntu 13.10

$ lsb_release -rd
