[Bug 1403260] [NEW] Undefined symbols within QtGui.so in PyQt4

Public bug reported:

Whenever I try to run a Qt program, such as this one:

import sys
from PyQt4.QtGui import *
app = QApplication(sys.argv)
button = QPushButton(“Hello World”, None)
button.show()
app.exec_()

No application is launched, and I get the following error message:

from PyQt4.QtGui import *
ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/PyQt4/QtGui.so: undefined symbol: _ZN15QSessionManager16staticMetaObjectE

I have reinstalled the following packages to no avail:

python-qt4
python-qt4-dev
python-qt4-gl
libqtgui4
libqtcore4

Some system info:
Description:	Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
Release:	14.04
3.13.0-32-lowlatency 
usr/bin/python2.7: Python 2.7.6 
Using Qt version 4.8.6
