Thanks for your advice. Her is what I tried :
1. I removed the ksmserverrc and checked "Start with an Empty Session" → Login process is much faster
2. I re-enabled "Restore previous session" → Login is slow again. No ksmserverrc file has been recreated. The programs arec correctly restored, though.

Seems like the problem lies in the "Restore previous session"
functionnality.
