Same here, newly added places still vanish in Kubuntu 15.04 + Beta
Backport PPA.

However what works now is that I can move places in the list. E.g. move
one from the bottom to the top and that perserves restarts of Dolphin.
Before, the place entries were just going back to the "original" order
