actually there doesn't seem to be an open record in the KDE-bugs
database... (plasmashell - Device Notifier)

Would be appreciated if you could directly report this to the KDE
developers, if don't mind registering there.

I could do as well, ... but couldn't reply on  possible  questions. ;-)

Generally your suggestion seems right to me - my PC's internal also
don't appear in the "device-notifier"
