I previously wrote that the problem doesn't appear over DVI. However,
that's not entirely accurate. There's no problem when I turn off and on
the display. But I get the very same crash when I physically remove the
DVI cable. This makes sense in light of juanmanuel's posts above. And
certainly should not be like this. But maybe it's an upstream problem
and not sth specific to Kubuntu. I think I got the same behavior with
Fedora 22. Sadly, it used to work fine prior to 15.04.
