Try to install sddm-theme-maldives and change to that theme via
Systemsettings-GUI (if picture doesnt suit ur needs u can change it).

SDDM themes other than breeze are not installed by default in Kubuntu &
the breeze-theme seems to fail on lack of beeing rebuild against the
changes that SDDM 0.13 brought. Certainly the SDDM-devs checked against
their themes but not the distro-specific ones. Somestimes it helps to
read changelogs (brief)...
