@Dennis: Hum, that setting does not change anything for me regarding
dupes. Even when activated, the dupes appear.

Confirming that the bug persists for me (newly created IMAP kmail
account, newly created filters) as of kmail 5.2.2, KDE SC 16.04.02, KF
5.23.0, on Debian/Sid.
