Version 1.0 of kdeconnect required an updated version on Qt which was
only available in yakkety.  We are working on backporting Qt to xenial,
but with the release of Yakkety we had higher priorities.

Version 1.0.1 removes that hard dependency on Qt and allows it to build
on the version of Qt in Xenial.

I have packaged version 1.0.1 in my PPA -
https://launchpad.net/~clivejo/+archive/ubuntu/kdeconnect-kde/

Could the original poster please try installing this package and let me
know how you get on.
