Public bug reported:

Brightness works, but only in one way. It can set bright but never read
it back from hardware! So it's possible that the indicator shows 100%
but in reality brightness is low. I have to move slider a little bit to
adjust. The second issue cant just use Fn/brightness buttons. 'xev' cant
catch those also only those two buttons. Probably need some backporting
from new kernel?
