@secularmetal In this case I suspect it's not related to switching,
since my system has been running KDE since installed :) But a switch in
environments might cause hidden issues indeed and there is a risk you
run into something, if you haven't already it might be worth checking if
the `kubuntu-desktop` metapackage is worth installing - however, before
you do, do a google search, I haven't checked if it has/causes conflicts
with the vanilla ubuntu
