KMail won't display umlauts anymore

Not surehow to better diagnose this problem - I don't know very much about =
how=20
KDE / Kmail handle specific characters like german Umlauts (=C3=A4 =C3=BC =
=C3=B6) - but=20
anyway when I now receive mail with umlauts they are all just displayed as =
=DF
Anything specific I might check here?
