Last-minute fixes for Feisty's powermanager

Hi,

I've the folllowing last-minute fixes for Feisty's powermanager in the 
attached patch:

- improved handling when brightness object in HAL cause problems (fixes, among 
  more, a crash on startup)
- Localisation problems in some labels
- Display fixes in the popup for larger fonts
- Fix for crash in idletime detection (makes it non-critical)
- Hide popups when suspending, those would freeze then anyway

I had planned to fix those earlier, but private life intervened so I only got 
around to it today, sorry for being that late. I'd be glad if this can go in, 
it should solve problems for quite some users.

I've tested the changes locally and only fixed the less-intrusive stuff, so it 
*should* not break. The patch is against r651013 in subversion, which 
corresponds to 0.8.0 IIRC.
