Bug 117982: anybody know anything about NIS?

Hi,

userconfig crashes if the uid or gid fields in a line in /etc/passwd
or /etc/group are empty, but according to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-guidance/+bug/117982 NIS
requires lines like +::::::

One way to solve this would be to patch guidance to ignore lines
starting with a +, but I don't know anything about NIS.  Should
userconfig be doing something with it?  Are there other similar
exceptions that need to be taken care of?  Could a valid "normal"
passwd line start with a +?
