Hi Santa, it's been lovely to see you around in the channel again. And
I'm glad to know that you are still interested in membership. What I'm
interested to know is, has your life settled down enough now that you
will be around for some time in the future? Our Membership page [1]
says, "Membership of the Kubuntu community means recognition of a
significant and sustained contribution to Kubuntu and the Kubuntu
community. Contributions in all areas are welcome, from support to
advocacy, from programming to artwork and documentation, from LoCo
Teams activities to core packaging." The sustained part is important;
when people just disappear it is rather worrying.
You have a nice set up pages there. Suggestion: there is usually a
place at the bottom of membership wiki pages for Testimonials. People
can sign their testimonials with ` @ SIG @` (without the spaces) after
the testimonial.
Timing: I suggest making your doodle start after people return from
Akademy. Many of us on the Council in particular will be pretty busy
the final week of August and first week of September. A week or ten
days is long enough for a doodle -- and be sure to not include any
time you yourself can't attend the meeting. And once you make a
choice, fill out the meeting wiki page [2] AND announce your meeting
in both the list and IRC.
All the best,
Valorie
