Hi,
I am still a bit new to Linux, but I can easily install programs
using synaptic. I have recently tried to install programs using .deb
files and I have been using kpackage to install them. I am having a
problem installing Debs and I am pretty sure it is my lack of knowledge
that is causing the problem :) When I go to install the deb I am
getting a dependency error, but the dependency itself requires the deb I
am trying to install in the first place. What I did to solve this
problem was install the Deb without having it check for dependencies
then install the second, or other, Debs. This allows the program to
work fine as I have all the packages installed, but after doing that
Synaptic considers the package to be broken, probably because it thinks
it does not have the dependencies, and will not allow me to do an update
or install new programs. What should I do?
