Recommended RAM for Kubuntu 5.10

 Hi,
 
 I have an older laptop, a P3 500Mhz, but it only has 64 megs of RAM, so it's painfully slow.  What's the sweetspot for RAM for this to run reasonably well?  256? 512? 1 G?
