Konqueror iffy about starting

Yeah, I know iffy isn't really a technical term but it's the best way to 
describe it. When I use Konqueror as a web browser, it only launches the 
application maybe 25% of the time. This happens whether or not double click n 
the icon, click a hyperink somewhere else, or choose a bookmark from the 
desktop menu. However, this isn't a problem when using Konqueror as a file 
manager.  Any clues?
