keyboard problems

ok so today as I wasworking on my computer my keyboard stoped working. 
I restarted my computer an upon entering KDM I was able to type my password, but whne I loged into KDE my keyboard was useless. Then I turned off my computer and turned it back on and the same problem . My keyboard works for KDM, but not for KDE any ideas would be greatly apreciated the only new thing is that I installed the new KDE 3.4.1
