WiFi /Router Problem Solved.

My pcmcia WiFi card was recognised by the linux (hooray Kubuntu!!) but the
connection procedure was breaking down when my machine was not inclined to
ask for IP numbers.  I could see (using KWiFiManager) the strong signals ...
and my machine was recognising the SSID, but no IP's were being handed out.
Actually no IP's were being asked for!!

Careful reading of an eight-page document (https://wiki.ubuntu,com//WIFIHowto)
gave me the suggestions and I checked a file called /etc/network/interfaces.
After one or two small changes I was cooking with gas.  Lucky for me I chose
a WiFi card which is supported under linux (Atheros chip).  All is now
working properly ... or at least it was when I turned off the laptop...?!

Thanks for all suggestions...

Richard
