Mohammed,

The "Checking Battery State" message is usually the last message that
comes up before X launches, so in all likelihood, X is not working on your
computer.  Check the video drivers and make sure they're a match for your
video card.

Also, while I don't presume to speak for the entire list, could you please
not post HTML messages?  They are pretty much illegible in KMail.
