Welcome!

It sounds as if you have a wireless router feeding the PCs (?)
Wireless can be used well in linux, however for some types of wireless
cards (in your PC) it is possible that the particular driver may need
some attention. Initially - a question - does the router have an
ethernet socket (RJ45 socket/s)? If so, an easy approach initially
might be to use an ethernet cable (UTP patch, not crossed) during the
time you are sorting out the wireless.

I do not know much about connecting with wireless, I trust that advice
from others here may be helpful.
