Sounds like a good idea. But this can make things hard for those who only
vaguely remember how to find their way to a rarely used function by
looking for something that sounds like it, in the place that has now
been determined to be a duplication...

Oh no... The reason I chose KDE over gnome is that I absolutely can't
abide having to remember where and how to click with that annoying
rodent like pointing device... The keyboard is/was/"will always be" my
preferred command input device.
<rant>
With KDE I can usually use Alt+F1 and then use the cursor keys to
navigate the menu. Especially important to me when I don't happen to
remember the actual command name of the application to feed to the Alt+F2
run prompt.
Please tell me that Kubuntu isn't going to become so mouse focused that
I'll no longer feel comfortable with it... ( I started with breezy, then
used "apt-get dist-upgrade" to get dapper. But if right clicking on
things is now considered a more proper way to do things than using the
keyboard to get there, I'm suddenly not so sure I'm going to like making
the switch to edgy and/or beyond... sigh!)

This is good. Actually it's my favorite method when I know the command
name. But how does one get a list of unfamiliar command names
(preferably with function descriptions) of programs traditionally started
from the kmenu? Especially those that have been removed in favor of mouse
based initialization???
