problems w/ sound on Kubuntu (edgy)

The same as mine. I actually have two of them, and there are
some things that doesn't work well. The sound problem usually
happens no matter if I choose to boot Linux or Windows, so I
think it might be a problem with the hardware -- the sound
board probably is not initialized. I don't know much of the
process and don't know if there is an easy solution to this.
I don't get the problem too often, though.

Suspend (or hibernate) also doesn't work. I have already
tried a lot of things and I can't get it to work properly.
I can't get infrared to work also. The rest works without
flaws (including the card reader).

Despite these little problems, Linux work great on the machine.
These features I seldom use (except for sound) and wouldn't
find out about the infrared if I hadn't acquired a Palm that
can use the interface.
