Is Debian stable 100% interoperable with testing/unstable?  
Well, there is a brief period after a release where stable is 100%
interoperable with testing, but I've never seen people recommending
mixing from the three.

*ubuntu is basically a snapshot of Sid at a given time.  They diverge and
 get together every six months.
