Solving media:/ not showing media

In this month issue of the TUX Magazine[1] (you can download it for free),
in the "Q&A with Mango Parfait" section they talk exactly about this
problem. They explain the reason and one way around this problem. I have
not checked it, i do not use floppies since years ago :-)
