kmail

I'm using kmail 3.5x on breezy amd64.  I've been having problems with
kmail.  When I get a new email and I click on it, my hard drive starts
spinning, and the entire system slows to a crawl.  Eventually, after
10 - 15 seconds, I get to see my new email and everything seems fine.

I thought the problem was related to kontact, but  I have the same
problem if I turn off kontact and run kmail by itself.

Are other people having this problem?
