konqueror bookmark toolbar disappearing

Set up your konqueror window (pointing at your /home/username folder) 
the way you like it, including toolbars, size etc, then go to 'Settings' 
 > 'Save View Profile "Kubuntu File Manager"' and save it. Tick the 
"Save window size in profile" if you want to set the current size to be 
the default.
