Kernel choice for NX server?

All,
I am a SuSE user who is contemplating switching to Kubuntu. I'm sure at least
some of you are aware of the pain and suffering caused by SuSE & friends'
switch to alpha package management software in 10.1.
As an apt4rpm fan, and the fact that Kubuntu always has fresh KDE packages,
Kubuntu seemed like a good choice to investigate. I've been running 6.06 on
a desktop machine for a couple of weeks, and have thus far been satisfied.
Digressing, I do have to mention the ability to have a fully operational KDE
session running *during* the OS install is absolute genius! Wonderful!
Anyhow, my questions regard putting Kubuntu on my home network server. The
box (x86_64, 1GB, .5TB) runs DNS, DHCP, SSH, Apache, and Privoxy. I need to
have it run NIS & NFS as well, after I get Kubuntu on it. However, the
heaviest use of the box is as a NX session server, which finally brings me to
my question(s):
I've read that the desktop and server versions use different kernels. As this
machine will be both NFS & NX server, should I go with the desktop optimized
kernel, or the server optimized kernel? What are the pros/cons for each
choice?
Thanks for all your help.
Regards,
Mark
