cpu usage too high, entire system sluggish, top is messed up

I think that I am the person you are taking about. In my case the laptop
is an HP nx6125 based in an AMD Turion 64 processor. The Kubuntu
installation is totally unusable because it is very slow. I think that the
problem is related with the CPU scaling frequency but i am not totally
sure about this. I have already done 4 installations (formatting the hard
disk) and i have had always the same problem. In my last attempt (the 5th)
i have done a server installation and i am going to install now the
kubuntu-desktop package but i have not time yet to finish this process and
to check if the problem persists or not.
