    Instead of using the live CD you can simply install both OS's on 
your computer.  I have both Win XP and Kubuntu on my system.  I only use 
XP for a couple games that don't work on Kubuntu yet; but soon :).

    It is very simple.  All you do is create three partitions on your 
hard drive.  One for the XP, one for the Kubuntu root, and one for the 
swap.  I also recomend one more; a fat32 partition so you can easily 
share files between the two OS's.  After that you simply install the 
Kubuntu system and the Grub will detect the XP and automatically create 
a link to it when you boot up.
